This Vintage Original One Sheet Movie Poster is in

Very Good to Fine condition;  multiple staple holes in the top,

middle, and lower sections, a small hole in the head of Brix, edge

wear with minor tears in the side and bottom borders. Extra horizontal

crease in the top border, cross point separations, some minor tearing

 in the bottom border center fold line, and some small splitting in the

 left upper fold line.

A 'must have' for any Tarzan collector!

Herman Brix was a star shot putter in the 1928 Olympics.  After almost getting the lead in the MGM's Tarzan the Ape Man in 1932, Herman Brix was sellected by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of "Tarzan", for his own movie "The New adventures of Tarzan" 1935, which Burroughs made with his own money as well as investors.  He could make a movie but he lacked a distribution network.

  Metro used their influence and clout to block "Adventures" out of most markets and it was shown in few theaters, but because it was so very popular in the foreign markets it was re-edited and released three years later as "Tarzan and the Green Goddess" in 1938.  

Herman Brix appeared in movie and serials for several years but always type cast. He began acting lessons and changed his name to Bruce Bennett to get away from the Tarzan/olympic shot putter image.

As "Bruce Bennett", he went on to appear in many movies including, "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre."

He later left the movies to become the sales manager of a multimillion dollar vending machine company.  In 1967 that he returned to acting in various TV guest appearances.

This poster is very rare for obvious reasons. It is amazing that any

paper survived at all.

Herman Brix died February 24, 2007 at 100 years old.
