The film for this Lobby Card is about: A pitcher for the Chicago Cubs is played by Jack Donovan (Tom Santschi) who gets involved with some crooks who are trying to fix the game. The crooks retaliate by making it appear that his wife, Jean (Jane Thomas), is having an affair with Mike Moran, who runs a pool hall (David Kirby). Donovan inraged walks out on his wife and gives Moran a beating. After being beaten by Donovan, Moran admits it was a setup, however, Jean and the couple's little boy (Dicky Brandon) have left for Europe. While in route to Europe the ship Jean and the boy have taken hits an iceberg and they are reported lost. But Jean and the boy are alive, and 20 years later, Jack Donovan Jr. (Johnnie Walker) becomes a baseball player because his mother is in financial difficulties. He joins the New York Giants and recognizes his father, who is the manager. Still angry over the treatment his mother received, Jack Jr. decides to throw the World Series game when he is called in as a pinch hitter. But in the end, he can't go through with it and hits the winning home run. He receives word that his mother is ill, so he brings his father to her and the long-estranged couple are reunited.
